Mountain West Medical Center and University of Utah Health have partnered together to provide convenient access for comprehensive spine care and neurosurgery in the Tooele Valley. Our neurosurgeon provides the latest in medical and surgical treatment options. Having local access to this specialty care eases the burden of travel for patients without leaving our community.
As an integrated service of both University of Utah Health and Mountain West Medical Center, our neurosurgeon works closely with neurologists, radiologists, and other health care providers to develop the most complete and individualized treatment plans for the patient.
The most common conditions seen by our neurosurgeon would be lumbar and cervical disc disease, spondylolisthesis of lumbar spine, spinal fractures, and subdural hematomas. However, many other neurological conditions where surgery may be warranted are seen.
Conditions treated:
- Acute and chronic neck and back pain
- Herniated disk sciatic radiculopathy
- Pinched nerves including arm and/or leg pain
- Spinal stenosis
- Degenerative conditions of the spine
Common symptoms associated with these painful back conditions may include:
- Pain radiating in the arm or hand
- Numbness, weakness or tingling in arms or pain near shoulder blades or neck
- Radiating pain and pressure in the lower back
- Changes in gait, such as unsteadiness, lack of coordination or difficulty initiating leg movement
Patient results may vary. Consult your physician about the benefits and risks of any surgical procedure or treatment.
