Jake Daynes, DO, is an orthopedic surgeon. He was born in California and raised in Salt Lake City. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature. He completed his orthopedic internship and residency in Detroit, Michigan during which he received training in trauma, sports medicine, joint replacement, and surgery. After he finished his training he completed a fellowship in sports medicine and cartilage restoration in Indianapolis, Indiana to become an expert in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.
Being an athlete himself, Dr. Daynes understands the importance of keeping you in the game. He has worked with Olympians, professional and amateur athletes to help them achieve their goals. He is a former associate team doc for the Indianapolis Fever (WNBA), Butler University, Marian University, and Naptown Rollergirls. He continues to be active in local high school sports teams.
Dr. Daynes believes that the body, and particularly the musculoskeletal system, has an unprecedented ability to heal.
Dr. Daynes has received advanced training in robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacement surgery, a less-invasive surgical solution that can result in less damage to surrounding healthy tissues. Robotic orthopedic surgery patients may go home sooner after the procedure, and the smaller incisions heal more quickly than the larger traditional incisions, meaning faster recovery. If you’re interested in robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery, consider consulting with Mountain West Medical Group.
