Ronald Trudel, MD, MS was born and raised in Rhode Island. He received his medical degree from Ross University in New York. He did his internship and start of his residency in Internal Medicine at The Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. He then completed his residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Affiliated Hospitals, where he also went on to finish a fellowship in Geriatrics. It was after his medical schooling and training that he moved to Utah to start an Internal Medicine practice in Tooele in October 2001.
Having grown up in Rhode Island, the Ocean State, he wanted to become an oceanographer. However, it was in his 20's when his thoughts of becoming a physician started when he began working as a Medical Technologist at Brown University. He later worked as an Associate Professor in Clinical Microbiology at the University of Massachusetts. It was in the 80's when he volunteered his services to help patients and their families infected with HIV/AIDS that he discovered a passion within him that led him to start medical school at the age of 40.
Dr. Trudel enjoys working and volunteering with all populations of patients from age 18-105, but particularly loves working with the geriatric population with all their wisdom, and he receives great satisfaction in being able to help his older patients experience quality of life.
Dr. Trudel's philosophy of patient care is that his patients need to be carefully and correctly diagnosed, in order to know the best and most current researched treatment to prescribe. He actively listens to his patients with empathy and compassion and treats them with respect. He believes in treating his patients holistically.
